Company History
In 1993, in the Cameroun, co-founder Jean-François Aussillou discovered that fuel consumption for a particular truck in his community differed significantly, depending on the driver. To even out consumption, he devised a spring to keep drivers from "putting the pedal to the metal" unnecessarily. Results, however, were mixed.
Over the years, many technologies were developed to cut fuel consumption. Researchers also repeatedly demonstrated during this period that different drivers consume different quantities of fuel. Engine manufacturers eventually learned that driver habits could alter consumption by up to 30%.
In 2006, Jean-François Aussillou, Jean Poulin, Mathieu Guérin and Réjean Turmel came up with the idea of controlling aggressive driving by limiting pedal application.
RM2J was created in April 2007 to provide trucking firms with a new, innovative solution by boosting boost environmentally responsible driving behaviourand cutting costs. This solution is known as FMZ (Fuel MaximiZer). FMZ is an onboard, fully autonomous electronic module that efficiently governs a trucks available power according to the load hauled.
Modern technologies have enabled us to push the envelope of driver responsibility further. Our goal is to bring differences in driver consumption from 30% down to zero, while boosting your energy efficiency and profitability.
